Hi all,

Just signed on and this is a fantastic site. I bought a TC at an auction in January as my first car for $200. Only found out in the past few months what a truly incredible car this is and now i'm trying to restore it into factory/better condition.

Where can I find a set of front rotors for less than $125? I missed a pair on ebay for $40 used, now i'm looking for a new pair and I can't find any for less than $125-$150 per rotor.

Thanks for the help!

127k miles in January when I bought it for $200. 138k now. A few mods for more power in the planning. (:

Welcome! These really are amazing cars. I've been without mine for a few weeks because it's in the body shop getting fixed (got rear ended), I can't stand it! I'm really anxious to get it back.

About the rotors.. Yes, $130 apiece is about the going rate for 87-88 TCs. The reason for this is the ABS speed sensor rings are built into the rotors. You can get late-80s Mustang GT rotors for much less money but they don't have the ring, so you'd lose your ABS. I wouldn't recommend that, especially if you want to restore yours to factory condition. Fortunately they will last a long time, these cars have really good brakes unlike many newer cars that warp the rotors every 10k miles. I've had my TC for a year, I don't know how old the rotors were when I got it, but I drive it really hard and they have yet to warp. Good luck!

Check the board for parts I'm sure someone out there will sell you a set for a decent price. I know there are some listed on the board somewhere.

Welcome to the world of the 2.3Turbo. This site, and it's members, is invaluable. Glad you found it. In the tc parts for sale, I'm possitive there are quite a few complete tc's being parted out. I was looking last night. Brakes may not be new, but they're a hell of a lot cheaper than $130.

In a prior thread on this subject, I think someone reported that Autozone had them for around $90. I have never used AZ rotor but I know they sell some very cheap rotors that I would not have faith in for a long life. Every other place I checked wanted up to $148 each. NAPA gave me a deep discount and I got them for $115 ea.
