So, i am new to the NATO family, but have been doing alot of research on here. I am now a memebr and am glad i am i see that you all have a great knowlegde and love of TC's. Ok on to the problem i am having and the solution I have come up with. I am going to convert the stock electonic brake system to an 85 SVO vacum assist. here is why am am doing it, i have checked all the electical and the relays have blown the hydroboost system apart and bleed the brakes to try and fix the red and amber brake light is still on and there are no brakes at all. if any one has a parts list on what fittings, parts, lines and other misc. items needed it would really help.
thanks in advance. anything will help.

darn. i remember i did it on my 87 turbo coupe. i BELIEVE the 93 cobra master cylinder works well because the 93 cobras had disc brakes. and i think any brake booster will work.

awesome thanks for the help. it will begin as soon as i get the parts from rock auto. cant beat the prices. master and booster with core under 100 bucks. also picked up an iacv, tps, egr, pick up, cap rotor, and icm also. all motorcraft and under 200. all together under 300 bucks.
i hope the other parts solve the idle issue i am having as well.

I dont mean to take over the topic but now my brakes lost the pressure but it last for like under a min before it had power brakes then once in a while it lost and return so what could be the cause? I guess I might have to convert or get parts off my other TBird for now.
Thanks

^^^^^ Probably a failing pump relay. See the FAQ section.

if i ever have brake issues im going straight for the vac swap. its a cleaner look, cant usually be done within a day, and then no worries with electrical issue with brakes! id rather my engine stop because of electrical problems than my brakes!

To each his own..... The Teves II system was used on many makes and models of higher end cars in the 80s thru the mid 90s and has been proven to be a very reliable system. The electrical part of the system is very simple and easy to troubleshoot on the rare occasion it develops problems.

I think the hardest thing is to replace the pressure switch without removing the unit from the car. I like the system and mine has worked good for me. Anyways, if the ABS portion ever fails you still have regular brakes till you can fix it. I have another ABS master cylinder from the parts car I had, just in case.

Spoken like someone who has never got to drive one with the ABS out. Try rush hour after driving 400 miles with no power boost. I now keep a spare relay in the glove box.
