88 Rear seat shoulder harnesses?

Hey everyone!

New to the forum, just picked up an 88 TC last month. First car way back when was an 87 V6 auto, so this is a nice upgrade. Happy to be back in the Ford family.

However, my wife is not too happy about the fact that we don’t have shoulder harnesses in the backseat. This is important because I have a seven-year-old with a car seat. For her to use it in booster mode, it requires a shoulder harness. I know Ford made a kit when these were new, and that there are attach points under the hat rack, but I’m going to assume those kits don’t exist anymore. Has anyone else run into this problem, and if so, what can I do? Any after market ones out there?

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

I have used this company in the past to restore parts of my 64 Galaxies seat belts. they sell a three point non retractable kit that you should be able to bolt the top side to an anchor point around the top of the seat. http://www.ssnake-oyl.com/mm5/merchant.m...ode=3PNRLS

Thanks for the heads up on Ssnake-oyl! I’ll give them a shout and see what they can do.

The attachment points where up on the rear deck using very large wide washers. not very sturder. but better then nothing.
My father had them in his 88 Sport for us kids back then. when his car was wrecked in '98 i took them out and set them aside for future use.
my 6yr is still in a 5piont harness seat for now. i have the dealer ordered shoulder kit still, but wont be using them. they have no retractors.
Brian Leavitt gave me set of shoulder harnesses with retractors to put in mine. Cuz he is a swell guy. just need to get them installed with all the other things that also need to be done to the car.
