88 Ford rpm not working

I swapped out the cluster and found the wires messed up but it's still not working I was able to fix the wire

Had the same issue with mine. Changed out the fuse "even though it looked good" and it fixed the problem.
88 Turbo Bird 5 speed, Intake and exhaust mods, T3/T4 hybrid turbo at 20 psi, Cold air cone filter, manual boost controller, subframes. Still being refreshed.

Thanks I'll try it. I'm getting ten pounds of boost can you think of anything of why I'm not getting more ?

adjustable wastegate actuator with a 3/8" preload and manual boost controller helped mine to achieve almost 20 PSI max.

If you have a wastegate that is opening to early, that will give you a low boost situation as well. You could try disconnecting th ewastegate vacuum/ boost lines and run without it. But, BE VERY CAREFUL to not overboost it. With no boost going to the wastegate, it should not open and give you full boost.

Most common reason dash lights, gauges, etc dont work is poor connections at the cluster plugs either from the plugs not being fully seated or corrosion / damage to connector pins. 12 V power to power the speedo and tach come from the same circuit, so if the speedo works, tach should also have 12 V power. They also both share the same ground.

I did have a tach fail a number of years ago. Tach electronics were fried. Didnt bother to fix it as I had 2 spares laying around.
