88 A4LD swapping problem

I have a 1988 Turbocoupe. The trans blew and was beyond repair. I removed it and got a new core from a JY that said it was also a from a 1988. My problem is that stock fittings to the transmission are a large size (no clue as the size). The new rebuilt trans has a smaller entry to the transmission. This problem is for both holes. Another dilemna is that the electrical connector on the new transmission is round with eight prongs. They are in a rectangular formation three and three. The input on the transmission is round and has round prongs. Please help me!!!!! My biggest problem is the fittings for the actual trans lines. I know I can run the car and it'll shift fine w/o the electrical part hooked up.

they gave you a transmission form an newer vehicle(ranger maybe?),
our a4ld's have a 3 prong connector.
go back and get the right transmission, an the holes on the tranny line will also match

My does NOT have a 3 prong connector. The harness on my car is round with 6 pins in a rectangular formation. Its deff not for a ranger or anything else. Everything else on the trans is matching. My main issue is the size of the factory fitting and getting a coupler or something. Anyone have this problem? I got this tran 9 months ago and finally got to put it in so buying a new one or taking it back isn't an option.

Just read a little more that in mid 88 ford switched to a dual solenoid on the transmission. This might be the problem that I have? They say it controls the converter lock up and the dual controls had the 3-4 shift inhibit solenoid. Is this making sense to anyone so it can make sense to me?

Any chance you could snap a pic of these fittings and the connector in question? I know I'm a bit confused as to what you got there.

heres the fittings that are on the car. The ones in the trans are a lot smaller. I don't know what size the car lines are????
You can see on the round connector from my factory harness that it has 8 prongs side by side.
The trans has a i think 6 or 7 prongs in a semi circle shape with a plastic center. I couldn't get a pic of that though.

I had to post the pics on my first aid squad website (good thing i'm the administrator).
heres the link.

This is the fittings, connector, and harness from a 91 Mustang A4LD. The 2 prong connector at the left of pic 1 controls the converter (from an 88). The harness in pic 3 should be what you need for the rev lts and nuetral sw. The fittings in you pic are a bit blury, but look like a push lock type. They may fit if you remove the fittings from the trans and put them directly into the case. If you need something from these pics I'll send it + shipping. Hope this helps.

Doug...thats it. This trans when I got it from the JY was out of another TC though?? Maybe someone else did what I'm gonna be doing now to it? I need the harness'. I'm sure if I splice the old harness into the new one it should work. As for the 2 prong connector in pic 1, I don't have a wire connector to go to that. Any ideas? And the fittings are the same on the one you have too. The inputs are just TOO small. I'm thinking of finding a way to get a coupler/reducer of some sort and do it up that way. I just don't know the size of my fittings on my lines on the cars now? Thanks for the help and I will definatly buy those connectors off you.
