Hi guys !!
Does anyone know if the aftermarket Rear control arms for the 79-93 Mustang will fit the 87 turbo bird and if not does anyone make them ? or will better bushings (polyurathane) help.
will the Tubular crossmembers and control arms for the Stang fit? I want to make the car handle a lot better, after taking a ride in a JapMobile with a rear drive (independant) as well I came to the conclusion that I need serious work.
which springs ,shocks,swaybars should I use ?

I think JD's Performance has adjustable ones, because if I recall correctly, they told me the mustang pieces wouldn't fit. Thier kit was around $350. As far as springs-shocks-swaybars question, wait awhile. The reply's regarding that will be coming.

Oh, and I'm NOT Asian, but I would recommend the term 'import' instead.

Stang rear lower arms will fit uppers do not though.

Stang front arms may fit 83-86 I think so but am not certain. They definately DO NOT FIT 87-88 due to a different cup depth in the arm.

You could check Kenny Brown they may have some specifically for our cars.

TBird rear lower arms are about 1/2" longer than the Mustang ones. The uppers are a touch over an inch longer.
The 87-88 Tbird front control arms are longer than the 79-93 Mustangs and 83-86 Tbirds.
KB used to make rear control arms for the TBirds..at least while I was there..I know..I had them produced. What they're doing now I have no idea. You need to call them. Talk to Brian if you can, he's the only sales guys who had any clue about the TBird stuff, the other two guys wouldn't know a TBird if it bit them on the ass....

Hope I did not offend anyone it's just that in Australia we use the term Jap and not the word Import (Jap meaning their cars NOT to offend the Japanese people)

Say, I know that SN95 Mustang (94-98) front control arms are a bit wider than Fox mustang's were, would those work? Just curious.

Hey I just put mustang lower rear control arms on my 84 tc. (bbk arms) the upper arms on my car are about .5-.75 inches longer than the mustang ones and the bottoms where exactly the same size. The spring mounts on the lower arms are in a different place than my factory arms, this raised the rear end slightly. As to the front control arms, the birds have a longer front arm than the mustangs (maybe as much as an inch, don't rember). Hope this helped. Oh yeah in case any one wanted to know the bbk control arms are excelent parts, especialy when you consider that the whole kit (upper & lower arms + bushings) is cheaper than just the lower arms from fomospo.

'84 turbo, electronics died and I had this 302 short block in the basement........ this summer I should have about 350/350 hp/lbft and I can tune it with a screw driver. try that with a honda!

Front control arms on the 87-88 T/C's and the 94-95 Mustangs are the same length. Not sure about the whole cup depth thing, but if you are switching to tubular control arms you will have to switch to coil overs anyway, so that won't matter.

Too much fun, what's that mean? That's like too much boost, there's no such thing.

Nope....
The rear lower arms on a TBird are longer than those on a Mustang (about 3/8-1/2"). I had both if front of me when we did the ones for the TBirds at KB's. The uppers are about 1- 1/8" longer...had then both in front of me too....
The 83-86 TBirds use the same front control arms as a 79-93 Mustang (ex SVO)...used the Motorsport set on one TBird...identical..The 87-88's used the longer ones. The 94-98 Mustang ones are about the same length as the 87-88 Tbird, but they use a different ball joint that most likely will not be long enough to get to tighten up on a Fox spindle.
