87 TC underhood insulation (Good T-Bird Day)

I have spent quite a bit of time working on this car over the last nine years, both under the car and under the hood. This summer called for a new clutch, a new exhaust system, getting the air conditioner going and putting a new gasket between the turbo and the manifold. The clutch and new flywheel are in, the duel ATR stainless exhaust installed, the A/C accumulator and all o rings replaced and system charged with 134.

As I was finishing up the gasket replacement my wife came out to remind me it was dark out and I was three hours late for dinner again, when she looked up at the underhood insulation and said "There's a T-Bird there." Behold: an embossed T-Bird in the insulation just above the intercooler duct. Cool! I've been looking at that insulation for years and never saw it. There may be some kind of profound meaning to this having to do with how we deal with the essence of the Turbo Coupe in maintaining its existence. Or, maybe not. Just the truth now, how many of you knew the T-Bird is there.

Nope.... Most folks don't have the original Hood Insulation. They are all but obsolete.

I remember a thread on trying to get reproductions made. I really wish they did make them. Mine is in horible shape and the bird looks like it is missing a wing. Too bad.

What's hood insulation? I think I threw mine away, hope it didn't have the emblem...don't worry, it was pretty much trashed anyway.
