I know laws are different all over but why would changing the trans affect getting collectors plates??

It won't be worth any money if blows a tranny and you have to pay to fix them as they get rarer and more expensive to fix. T5s will be cheap for a long time, relatively.

Again, laws and procedures vary, but I doubt that anyone would check. I know that it would not be picked up in my state, and I'm not sure they even care. Things are not as tight in Ohio as in some other states.

In ohio if its a limited production run of less than 5000 units i think........or...as in mine was no where close to stock but had to provide minimum of $5000 in receipts and pictures for collectors plates and state its not a daily driver and provide you plate number of other car

Never heard that eligibility for collector plates as being only for strickly stock vehicles..

Some of the guys I race with have vintage plates on their older race cars, and stock is the last thing that applies to those cars.

Anyway how they gonna know what tranny was original??? I'm not gonna tell 'em..

Even here in regulated to death Wisconsin, the rules for collector plates are pretty loose. 20 years old or older, and you cant drive it in January without getting a $5 permit. They dont care if the motor is nuclear powered with a Lenco backing it up.

Is N-power an option or mod that you have done Jeff ? Inquiring minds want to see the write up (and the NRC permit....)

Ditto others in this post, 20 years is the only criteria I have heard in MD and NJ.
