Hey Guys,

I'm in the process of determining the correct Paint code for the 87 TC. I have some conflicting information, so any help would be appreciated. While I want to paint the car the Silver Blue, my wife wants Dark Blue.

Here's what I have, my 87 has a paint code of 77 on the door, which is called in my 87 Parts Catalog as Medium Shawdow Blue Metallic. Now when I look in the 87 Sales Brochure, there is no mention of this color, only the Dark Shadow Blue Clearcoat Metallic. To add to the confusion, I also got a 1987 Ford Cars Fact Book, which is a dealer sales book which outlines all the cars & details in the Ford line. There is a actual exterior paint chip chart & it lists the color of my car as well as the Dark Shadow Blue Clearcoat Metallic. The Medium Shawdo Blue (77 code) is for the T-bird, but the Dark Blue (7B code) is for Mustang only. I've attached a pic of my car before I started sanding it down as well as a copy of the paint chip chart. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Tony, before I had him repainted [Image: biggrin.gif] JR's factory color was Medium Shadow Blue Metallic; I'm virtually certain on this, so it was an '87 color. Hopefully it will stop raining and I'll be able to get you the paint code this weekend.

HTH.

Tony-
you list that car as being your wifes car....

so sounds like it will end up being dark blue.... [Image: wink.gif]

mine is the same color and paint code. I love that color.

Its her car in name only so I could have 2.... Sometimes you have to say its theirs when in fact its really yours. Which means that you have to let them pick the color, but the mods to make'em go fast. [Image: biggrin.gif]

Tony, you could always fix the parts car up or buy another one that's light blue! I told Audra the light blue one was hers when I drug it home with the red one on the same day. 11 days and 4 TC's later she was still dating me, so it works!
