The hood itself will bolt right on.

The intercooler will be more problematic. You have a different turbo and I don't know that it will line up with yours.

Seems to me if you can put a T3 on an 87/88 and the intercooler lines up, it should work the other way around also. I'm not positive though, but I know the intercooler on my 88 still lines up with the T3 installed. You'll need to make an adapter to couple the flanged outlet to the intercooler, or swap to an SVO compressor housing.
For performance reasons, I'd think about going with a front mount intercooler. I've got a supercoupe IC I plan on installing on my TC.

I may look into a ft mounted intercooler. I happen to know where a SC is sitting in a junk yard. Will the throtle body fit on my 85? What is the reason for going to a ranger roller cam? I happen to have a 92 ranger engine sitting in my garage. Is the throttle body on it better then the one on my 85 TC?

Thanks for all the help everyone!

As I understand it the roller cam is an acceptable replacement for our stock cams but it isn't "all that" as far as adding performance. More of a if you can't find a good stock cam the Ranger is a viable, cheap alternative.

Have to see what folks who run the the Ranger cams have to say.

If your stock slider cam is in good shape, don't bother with the ranger roller coversion. I only swapped it in because my I'm planning on changing it out after we get my stock cam was wiped out. I plan on swapping it for something better when we get the sons car done. It's a cheap way to get into a roller cam. That's pretty much it.
Yes, the supercoupe throttle body will fit on your 85. It's not a simple bolt on, but it will fit with a little work. No real performance gain with a stock set up. Grab it anyway and stash it away for late use.

Take the hinges too. That way you can get rid of the hood prop.

If you go to an 86 SVO T3 you can bolt the stock 87 TC intercooler right up-perfect match.

If you do a search you will find all these questions you asked as well. Theranger cam is a big debate. I like mine and I feel it response better and a slight power gain.

Go to big VAM and 36# injectors with a LA3. You will feel a great difference with this swap. There is a right up by Walsted in faq section and ion his link.

Here is mine with the 88 hood

You can swap a 86 front end and an 88 either way. You cant switch the rear.
