Previously I have used weatherstrip from the sunroof doctor that you install using adhesive.  They did run out of stock but now have a peel and stick option.  Wondering if anybody has tried that versus the type that requires adhesive?

Peel and Stick Style

Adhesive Style

Peel and stick is cheaper and would be easier to install, just looking to see if anyone has any experiences with the peel and stick weatherstrip.  I will give the sunroof doctor a call Monday and see what they may say about it.

I'm not sure which product I got for my sun roof from them. Its been at least 5 yrs. It was probably the peel and stick. I'm sure it's more installer error, but I still get a lot of wind noise. It doesn't leak when it rains, but I definitely can't go through a car wash still. Again, it's probably more my fault for this. I don't think I have it adjusted correctly.
The stuff I used adhered fine. Definitely be careful to not cut it to short. I was mindful of this and still have a teeny gap between both ends

I called the sunroof doctor and found that they no longer sell the peel and stick and are back to the original style which you install with weatherstrip adhesive.  It was the same price as the peel and stick too.

Spoke with the owner Rick who was a pleasure to deal with.  He did say they don't carry the adhesive any longer due to the short shelf life and said to pick some up locally at autozone or another chain auto parts store.  Recommended using 3m Super Weatherstrip Adhesive #3m 8008 (black not yellow).

Should have it by the end of the week.

I'm also going to re-flock the sunshade... previously I power washed it to get all the moldy looking flocking off... Turned out looking fairly good de-flocked but it seems to rattle a lot and is sort of annoying.  Hopefully a good flocking will help!

Installed the moonroof weatherstrip, fit perfectly around the lip edge of the moonroof.  I re-flocked the sunshade while at it.  Came out very well and cut down quite a bit on the shade rattling.  If I were to do the re-flocking again I would tape over the bottom on the shade slots as some of the gray paint/glue used was showing on the backside.  Just used a black sharpie to color over it and you can't really see if through the glass or when the moonroof is in the vent position.  I did use one of the flocking canisters to apply the flocking which was $8 on amazon.  A lot easier and better coverage than the plastic squeeze bottle.

Hey Vegas, looks real nice. I have to do mine as well in my 88. Is this flocking stuff applied over a spray on glue or something? Was it a kit with all materials needed? How did the color match up? This is on my list to do this year as well. thanks

It's more of a paint than glue.  Comes in a variety of colors and it's suggested you use the same color paint as the flocking.  I got mine from craftflocking dot com but their website is blocked by norton on my PC.  I did order using my phone though.  Also here is a photo of the mini flocker I used.  Worked really well! Ended up using almost 3 of the small bottles of paint and about 3/4 of a 8oz bag of flocking.  Applied the paint with some disposable brushes, I had my son help applying the paint as I wanted to be sure it didn't dry before I was ready to apply the flocking but that wasn't really necessarily.  Be mindful of the paint pooling in the handle recess area.  You can call them at 715.554.3798... I emailed them about their "dangerous website" tag by norton.
