87-88 front bumper cover on an 83-86?

I see what you all mean by the 'U' shaped body indentation. I had never noticed that before (even on my car, until I was actually looking for it specifically). Jon, your pic is exactly what I was hoping to see. It looks as though it matches the overall shape and size o the fenders, though the red stripe in the body molding doesn't match. I plan to have the car painted this winter, so I could have molding, or fenders, changed then.

The quarter windows 'look' basically the same to my untrained eye. I was hoping it would be like the Mustangs and be interchangeable like the 79-86 and 87-93. That, however, isn't as big a deal as the front end.

As to Brian's comments, I cannot explain my dislike of the four eyed Tbirds. I strongly prefer the four eyed Mustangs to the aero nose, but that just doesn't work for me on the Thunderbird. I think it has something to do with how sleek the Tbird is, then the nose has the huge square holes. Just my opinion.

That picture Brian posted appears to be the same color mine was originally. A PO had painted it black, and done a poor job, it's flaking off everywhere. Would an 86 TC have come factory with a chrome grill? The paint is flaking off and it is chrome underneath.

no, chrome grilles were on v6 and v8 cars, i believe.

i agree with you on the 'big square holes' thing. that why tinted and clear ATS headlamp covers were so popular on these, and the 4 eye stangs, made the car look completely different (better, imo).

i adore the taillights of the 87-88 cars. biggest thing i miss about my 85.5.
