86 wheel fitment help

so i sold my 2 set of rims i had for the bird neither fit correct so im in the market now

i was looking at some rims and wondered if they fit

please help

they are some 4 lug mustang rims as follows

front=17x8 +19mm offset
back=17x9 +20mm offset

will these rims fit flush with no rubbing?

Since the stock '86 rims are 7" and have a 22mm offset (4 15/16 backspace), both of these will push the outside edge further out; the 17 x 8 by at least an inch, and the 9" by ~2 inches.

I think they'll interfer with the body lips, but your call.

thanks rob so what is a good size to look for as far as back spacing for 17x8 and 17x9

I prefer to have both backspace and offset to work with when gauging wheel fitment. Sometimes, but not always, the bead widths are not the same on the inner and outer rims. But for the 8", 25-27 offset should work okay but it's not possible to guarantee it.
Personally, I think 9" wheels are too wide for the Tbird and that fitment can only be determined by mounting them. Since this usually invalidates any return agreement it's a problem.

ok so whats a good size rim to look for that will fit flush?

what about this


17" x 8" (+12mm with 4.95" backspacing) for the front, and 2 - 17x9 (+24mm with 5.95" backspacing)

i read that on here i forget his name he's running that fitment on a 85

need help wana buy rims so they can get powder coated when car gets paint
