In my treasure hunting for nice parts in the jy, I came across a AC compressor with WEB 1413-92 stamp on it. I pressed the A/C line and freon came out. The belt was also still connected. In my search for compressors for this year car what are signs that the A/C is good other than what I check for? Also has anyone heard of this company "WEB"?

The compressor in that car should be an HR980. Don't know about the other numbers. My guess is that it was rebuilt. The original compressors are not very strong and don't always work out well with R134A refrigerant. With that said, look and see if the shaft seal leaks, see if the clutch pulley turns, and see if the compressor turns. That's about all you can check without the engine running.

Well, thats about the same status of the one I found in the JY, and I am still blowing nice frosty air months later....

Of course its also December.

My system is still holding pressure just fine, the big thing is replacing all of the o-rings in the fittings

The HR980 cant be rebuilt in the traditional sense, since it is a sealed unit. Can get inside without cutting the case open. The only thing on the HR980 that can be replaced (other than the clutch, clutch bearing) is the front seal. Real POS.
