I called the guy about the 86 turbo coupe in Dover. i talked to him and wrestled a price. he knows about the cars and the engines that power them. he wants to have a good running turbo coupe and he said the car can sit for another ten years. its eather he buys what i have of i get what he has. he doesn't care the car isent hurting any one. so he says. on the other hand he has a couple intakes some turbos, t3's to be exact. he said the car runs and about 1000 miles on the engine he put in. he said he swaped the dash a while back in some year but it wasent the dash from 87-88. he told me $1.000 for the car. is it worth saving for???, or just thanks but no thanks.

It looks to me like there might be rust in the door and behind it on the driver's side. That quarter panel on the passenger side is going to be expensive to repair, if you can get the parts and that is an expensive fix labor wise, and requires good skills, even with parts. How much rust underneath and structurally. I'd bet it's a mess The frame may be tweaked too from the quarter panel damage.

I'm not a body guy, but there is a whole lot of money just in getting that thing looking descent. let alone any mechanical issues. I would want to at least see it running and drive it before I would pay anywhere near $1K. And that assumes it isn't riddled with rust.

This doesn't sound like a good deal. I've seen people here get much better, drivable cars for less money.

Look at the vin, it's gotta be an 83-84.not an 86. Hate to see a four eye rot to the ground but that;s where that one is heading. I think the guy hav been watching evil-bay too much.
There are still some good donors out there, I would pass on that one. my .02

sounds like the dude think his S*** dont stink id just leave that one alone that car is beyond repair ive seen/done enough body work to know even if u did find someone to fix that it wouldnt last very long maybe a year tops due too its unibody and thats one hard hit i know i had a fox body stang totaled for pretty much the same hit. Unless u really think u need parts off of it for another car id just tell the guy no 1k for that car is stupid (in current condition id say 400 tops thats more then any salvage yard would ever pay for it) and if the motor is a fresh rebuild like he says with only 1000 miles on it he should still have some sort of parperwork to prove it anyone can clean up a motor and change seals and say its rebuilt seen this happen more then once. thats just my opinion seen alot of ppl get screwed on deals like these.

Hey there folks!

Sean, I've seen this car. It's not worth $300, much less $1000. Did you get under the car? There's significant damage to this car that you can't see off the bat. Pass on it.

That car has sat for at least three years. The amount of mildew tells me that. $200 max.
