Does anyone have a wiring schematic for the interior lights which includes the lights on either side of the back seat? I can't figure out why they don't work and I can't find the circuit in the EVTM. The bulbs and sockets are good, as is the switch on the center console. Everything seems to be hooked up fine, but they just don't work and I don't want to tear everything apart before I have to.

Thanks,
B

You do have the ignition key On when working the back lights via the switch on the console, right? Those two lights are hot only with ignition power. If the ignition switch is off, those back lights don't work regardless of the switch on the console.

Yeah - they don't work with the ignition on.

I don't have my 1986 manual, but have my 1988. While the fuse and wire color may have changed, it may also be the same:

In the 1988 EVTM, the circuit is listed on one of the several courtesy lamp pages.

As you can see it's a simple circuit so there isn't a lot of things to check. I'd start with the easiest by checking the fuse. It's also possible it could be the feed from the ignition switch (being a known trouble area), but either way you'd probably lose more than just the rear lamps.

Thanks man... that's what I needed. Time to do some continuity checks!

Just an update. Got them working. Wasn't a wiring problem. I thought the switch in the console was good. I just put in a new console and the switch in this one actually does work - and now so do the lights.
