85 TC question?

Hey guys. Well i've got the motor and tranny back in my 85 TC (had a bad engine fire tords the begining of the year-12 hours in to be exact, lol) I'm building the car too be a 90% drag car and still be able too run around on the street the other 10% of the time. I staved everything that didn't need to be in it out. I also removed the inner front bumper (that things heavy, lol) and made brackets for the driving lights. I also put a tubular K-member in as well as tubular arms too with strang struts and coilover kit. The inside now has all the sound deadner out and just straight carpet in it all the way back too the rear deck. I removed the back seat and front and put in a pair of summit race buckets. I also gutted the dash and removed the climet box (the onlty street duty it'll see is on nice days anyways. I left the center console in. It's running all autometer guages in it now also (modifed a stock type cluster caseing.) I've also installed a 6 pt roll bars. As far as getting fuel, i put a 14 gallon fuel cell in it with sending unit and put a A1000 areomotive fuel pump inline. The outside got a 4" fiberglass hood and trunk lid. Now my question is, does anyone have a sheet that shows the wqiring for the Turbo 2.3's and the vacume sheet also. I'm running a LA3 computer from a 88 TC. I'm still looking for a wiring harness also. would i be better off using one from a 87-88 tc or what? Thanks

Since this is a mostly drag car, I'd reccomend against a '87-'88 TC harness. They are very complex and the EEC test connector is not even in it, but in the ABS/ride controll harness(the two harnesses interconnect near the EEC inside the car). You're best bet for getting a harness would likely be to get one from a '87-'89 2.3 Stang. You'll need to modify it to use the '88 computer so a EVTM for a '87 or '88 TC and one for the year Mustang would make it fairly easy to adapt into your car. Or you could go with a '85-'86 TC harness, but it will require roughly the same mods as the 2.3 Stang version(well except for adding the wiring for the VAM).

Why don't you just repin your connector and add the extra wires needed for the LA3 or try to find a PE from an SVO. You will get the same gains from the PE as you do from the LA3, it's just not as elagant for a daily driver. Some say the PE is actually more agressive.

Didn't miss it, didn't realize the harness was burn up. The Merkur harness would require the same repinning and addtional wiring, ACT Sensor and grounding of the #30. Do a search on this site or turboford and you should be able to find a link or the repinning diagrams.
