Well, I tried to get back into the car about this time last year and time has never freed up so I've decided to cut my losses.  More pictures will be added to the Craigs ad in the next couple days, the car is currently up on stands in the garage after replacing all the rear brake lines and flushing the system which had a bad flex line when I bought the car.  Poor thing has sat in my barn for over 6 yrs now, getting started now and then with the fuel pump in a bucket of gas (yes I know not safe). It sat that long or more in the previous original owners garage.  Tomorrow fuel tank is going in.

Below is the ad I placed on Craigslist, just realized I forgot to mention the windshield is cracked due to a tow truck driver.....grr.  I'm south of Erie PA just for your info.  I'd love to see it go to another person who enjoys the old TCs.

1985 Turbocoupe, 53,000 original miles, 2.3L turbocharged 4 cyl, automatic, positrac rear. Solid car but not a show piece, has been in storage for many years. Runs and yard drives but hasn't been gone over for inspection yet. Great little project car. New: Rear steel and flex brake lines, rear drums, brake shoes, and wheel cylinders. New gas tank, fuel pump, lift lines, and sending unit. New transmission shift cable. Excellent interior with only a some fading on the edges of the front seats and across the top of the rear, if you know these cars you know the red interiors always fade fast. Perfect dash and carpet. AC pump is removed. Does need exhaust. This car has been sitting too long and I've come to the conclusion I won't have time for it so hoping some one else will. Comes with 1988 Hi-way Patrol Mustang look alike rims and the set of original rims with centers which are not on the car in the image.

More pictures to come, this was after I towed it from the barn and washed off the dust.

I don't need help selling it, cash only, and like I said it is not a show pony and will need some paint work. If I don't sell it before it will be at the Canfield OH fall swap meet car corral.

I'd love to have an 85/86 TC, I wonder if it'd survive a drive back to Florida?

Sorry Andrew, for some reason your post didn't flag me to say you had responded. Car sold on Thursday. Was hoping someone would keep it as a TC but the guy is going to pull the engine and trans for a V-8 swap like so many do that don't know the 2.3L's potential. But I've also been a no replacement for displacement guy too at times. This is a project he's wanted to do with his dad for some time now so it went to a good home and another lover of the mid 80's 'Birds, which is great.

Can't say if she'd make a trip clear to FL but it was able to do a few hot runs just to make sure everything worked correctly after sitting for almost 2 decades!

Take care. Someday hope to maybe have another and be back.

Later, JR
Garage is empty of 4 wheeled projects, at the moment.....
