Hey again guys...you may remember my previous post about the 84 merc...well I didnt get that car.

I found tonight a 85 tbird TC for $850

It has 214k miles.....quote from ad "5 Speed Turbo Coupe Many new parts: tires, battery, rack, ps."

With the miles it has Im thinkin 850 is quite a bit...I emailed him for more info so Ill post here when I get response.

Heres the VIN if anyone has access to a full carfax report

1FABP46WXFA121764

Thanx again guys,

The car could be pretty ragged out with 214K on the meter. That's a lot mileage for any car.

"I haven't run the car for a bit so it's a little stiff / The car has rust on the hood on each side (not bad enough that it cannot be worked on)and some on the trunk lid (corner) and under the rear window. There is no rust on any of the panels or doors or the roof.
No motor problems / turbo was rebuilt aprox 20,000 miles ago. Downshifting into
2nd is stiff but no other trans. prblms. The interior is in fairly good shape / some cracking
on the dash. The problems with the car are: pasenger window does not go down, no heat, the gas gauge drops to empty once it reaches 1/2 tank and the ignition switch is loose and the interior hood latch lever was pulled free from the panel."

What do you guys think? I still think 850 is to much

If you like the car and want to take the time to fix the problems it has, low ball him with $425 and tell him it's going to take a good bit of money to get it right.

I paid $700 for my 88TC with 150k miles and all it needed was a heater core, brakes and the drivers side window was off the track. I don't know but I think for 850 you could probably save/spend about another 400 dollars and get one that is in better shape or as 88turbo said, try to low ball him. - just my 2 cents..

Well I only have 500 to spend on a car right now...I just need it to get me around temporarily till I get the issues on my Tbird SC worked out. After that I could work on it at my convience...

If there is rust under the rear window and on the trunk edge, then there is rust on the bottoms of the doors and the lips of the wheel wells, trust me. Make sure you check the frame rails too along w/ the trunk floor under the trunk carpet. They like to rust between the fuel tank and the trunk floor. Inspect, inspect, inspect!

$850 is too high for the car as described.
I'm with Mr.T that there is probably more rust that what is being desribed, look real close.

If you need any help with the SC shoot me an email at [email protected] and I might be able to help.

Good luck, and I think that's too much $$$ too.
