Hello,
I have a engine I am rebuilding for my TC, it is from a 85 XR4. I have a 88TC oil pan, and motor mounts as well as a 88TC rebuild kit. Is there anything I should watch out for? the archives stated that the front cover behind the crank pulley might be different, how so and what needs to be adjusted? Additionally there may be a difference in the main caps? What would be the best way to go about things? Thanks fo your help!

I have heard people describe filling up a depression in the (85) main cap with gasket sealer - silicone so that the later 88 oil pan can be used. Sorry I can't provide more info but I haven't seen it first hand. You can probably find more info at TF
