ok i got my turbo out, in and out play is non existant.. good! but side to side play is noticable... but no evidence of it hitting the compressor housing or anything.. i was thinking due to it being a wet berring turbo that maby there was more play when theres not oil in it... help, and if it is bad barrings, how much are they and how hard to change?

If nothing is hitting the housing, you could run it, If the side play is that noticable, you ought to rebuild it while you got it out.
