Hey guys, I have an 84 SVO that isnt signaling the injectors to fire. I think that it is in the pcm. I was wondering what pcm should be in it, and which pcm I could put in it. The sticker on the pcm that is in it now says TE (from what I've read it should be PE??)If I get a pcm out of a Turbo Coupe do I need to change anything else?

The "PE" pcm is an 85.5-86 SVO only.
The 84 and 85 use the "PJ" pcm.
PCMs can fail, but it'd rare. What things have you looked at? Have you got spark? Not positive but I think if the EEC doesn't get a PIP signal, it won't fire the injectors, but I'm guessing on that. Have you checked wiring?

Not exactly right, there is a TE from the 85, its configured for large VAM and Green top's. I have one here
I do agree with Pete, no pip signal = no injector fire. Thats where I would start.

OK, how do I check for the pip signal? I have spark at the coil, but this all started because I trying to cover bad insulation on the wires going to the TFI plug. I have pulled the injector harness off, and i dont get a pulse with a test light between the two wires. There is one hot wire on each injector, but the other side never pulses. (If i take a test light from the batt ground to each individual side of the injector) I also get no pulse at the pcm at pins 58 or 59. (Injector bank 1 and 2 if i found the right information.) I also tested resistance from the PCM harness (I only did it to the wire that goes to one of the injector banks) and found the other wire that was the same color at the fuel injector conector and I got .4 Ohms, which I took to mean that the wires are good going from the PCM to the injector harness.

Thanks Bob, I added a note to my Slocum book. Not the first time I have found he didn't list all the turbo computer codes

Sure sounds like you found the problem area. The wiring to the TFI is just terrible and I cringe at the thought of ever touching that stuff.
Here is a TF post that "might" help.

Sorry I cant help more, I havent done a lot of troubleshooting in that region. Search PIP here and TF should help.

Do any parts stores sell new TFI conectors? I think that I'd like to take the conector with the old wires and throw it in the trash.
