Just thought I'd let everyone know of a good source. I got an original '84 Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual (EVTM) for $12 shipped to my door. I was expecting a stack of photocopies or something, but it's the real deal. http://yfrog.com/28dsc01881jj

Wow. Needless to say I'm happy with this purchase. I wish I'd gotten my hands on this EVTM years ago.
I.e. I don't think I've every seen my cooling fan come on unles the a/c is on too. Turns out that in addition to the widely referred to ECT (engine coolant temp sensor in the lower intake), there's also seperate and specific Cooling Fan Temperature Switch at the base/below the intake in addition to a "coolant temperature switch" to the above right of the oil cooler.
How come I never knew that before? :-)
Here's more interesting info:
The green "turbo" light comes on above 0.75 PSI and transfers to the red "overboost" light at 12.5 PSI.
The low oil pressure and high coolant temperature switches are wired to the CEL, all else to dummy lights.
Supposedly the overboost light will come on solid every 30k miles to indicate the oxygen sensor needs replaced.
Cooling fan switch closes at 221 +/- 5 degrees F, turning on the radiator fan
