$600 reward for the person that will bring my 87TC race car from FL to me here in WA state. Nobody will ship a non-running car, and if it ran it would cost me $600 to ship. So, I am offering $600 for somebody to trailer it up to me. Any takers??? I have LOTS of parts to trade, and even a whole TC (Silver Mach 1, see cars for sale)! PLEASE help me!!

Hmmmmm - I recently had my non-running 1966 Tempest delivered to Sacramento from Dayton Ohio - cost $750. If you would like, I could look around for thename of the outfit that I used.

A few months ago I talked to a couple companies that said they would transport a non-running car. It cost more. but they would do it.
Try: http://www.movecars.com/

http://www.showroomtransport.com/
http://www.autolog.net/
It was probably the first two that I talked to and I think they may be FL based

there's people on ebay that offer towing services. I see their little ads all the time in the parts car section and such. One guy offers at 80cent per loaded mile.
I don't see many other people wanting to make a trip from one extreme end of the country to the other for $600 heh.

The other problem for a private individual who doesn't have a contracted car to bring BACK with him from washington is that the $600 will basically be the funding for a 6,000 mile round trip. Even at a VERY generous 20mpg and $1.90 a gallon, that barely covers gas alone. Then figure in food / sleeping arrangements / profit...you're talking about a lot of money.
What's so special about this race car? Why not buy another TC locally?

I agre with Steve. I looked into the cost for me to go to FL to get this car myself. Shipping was significantly cheaper than me going after it.

I recentily paid $500 to have my running SVO shipped from South Bend to Boston door to door. It was suppose to be open(cheap) transport but it came on a closed trailer w/ Lawyer Milloy's SC430.

$600 is dirt cheap. I am not sure what part of Florida the car is in, but worst case that is a 3500 mile trip. That's like 17 cents a mile... At todays diesel price it would cost me $1124 to make that run.

I got some quotes from thje places Pete listed, ranged from $950-$1300 for the non-runner. I also got quotes from all the same guys if it ran and it was $600-$850. There's alot of empty trucks coming back from FL is my guess.

Yeah, there are always empty trucks coming out of Florida. There isn't much freight coming out of there, unless you pull a reefer.
The price of fuel right now is whats going to kill you on that long of a haul though.
