5 lug / sn95 brakes setup help

Ok so I got my hands on a pretty much complete 96 gt stang for dirt cheap mainly to convert to 5 lug
For the rear I plan to use the rear axles from the stang, 1/8 MM spacers, and the mpv van rotors so I can stay with vented discs in the rear.
And for the front I plan to use everything from the stang, it's a 96 so according to the cool cats write up 96 spindles are directed towards lowered cars which I will do
But the write up also says I will probably need a bump steer kit, caster/camber plates, and modified alignment settings, so would all this be worth it or should I just find some 94-95 spindles which are more directed towards stock height cars if it even works?

I've even read in some threads around the web that 96+ spindles are not even recommended on fox mustangs so I dont know if that applies to TCs

I also want to know if the sn95 master cylinder vac assist setup will work with a tc with the sn95 setup?
My current teves setup leaks slowly at the lines by the proportional valve under the teves MC so it needs to be replaced regardless
If not which MC would be the one to get that doesn't cost a fortune?
I have the complete 96 sn95 at my disposal so I can use any parts I need from it if they will work
If anybody could give me some insight on what I should do that would be great, thanks

Well, let me see what I can remember. TC axles are 29.97" I believe, 94-98 Mustang axles are 30.00" .. When I did my 5-lug, I swapped them over, bolted the TC stock calipers on and went on my way. I redrilled the TC rotors for 5-lug pattern... something I'll have to deal with again, if I ever need to replace them.

I've read the 96+ spindles give severe bumpsteer issues, also. I used 94-5 spindles so I wouldn't have to worry about it. The arm for the tie-rod mount is in a different vertical location. There's a good write-up about it on Maximum Motorsport's site.

After I put the new wheels on and re-aligned the car, was able to get alignment specs within acceptable range, though I would have preferred more camber. Not gonna be able to get more negative camber without slotting the mount holes or putting on a caster/camber plate set, which is what I'll do some time down the road (CC set).

Here's the gotchas I didn't discover until after I had already started the swap: Needed new inner tie rods to match the spindles (you'll never set toe without the Mustang ones), new outer tie rods to match the new inners, Mustang struts, new ball joints or add washers under the ball joint nuts.

As for brakes, I can't offer much since I went off the deep end.. I changed all my lines and injected a modern ABS unit to hopefully re-add ABS down the road. With the 5-lug swap, I don't even have functioning sensors at the wheels anymore. I went with PBR calipers, for which I had to clearance the spindle so the calipers wouldn't hit with new pads.

bumpsteer kit will not help you using '96-'04 spindles. it takes you farther in the wrong direction of correcting bumpsteer.

soph is right on details of the swap.

i read somewhere that someone kept the anti-lock stuff from the sn95 spindles and axles and integrated it into the TC anti-lock system. i would like to hear how that turned out...

So Im contemplating this to!! Mainly because my car needs new brakes all the way around and I just discovered we have a set of mustang rims at work that I like!!! If what Ive gathered from coolcats is correct, swap the front with the sn95 stuff in my case I would be going for the 94-95 spindle setup. Front being the easiest!! On the rear SN95 axle shafts and a little trick that will allow vented discs to be retained is 90 mazda MPV rotors with an 1/8 spacer between it and the hub.

Well I will be going vacuum assist for the brakes so I don't need the abs
But I will be looking for some 94-95 spindles I'm sure I can find some at the pick n pull in town
And thank you guys for the help
