Be really careful of your choice of light if you use the trunk lid. There's actually not much room at all behind the bracing. And finding a spoiler that actually looks good on these cars is really hard. With the curves of the rear fenders, and that really short trunk lid, most look out of place.

So what's the problem with leaving the area of the third brake light untinted???

Basically what I'm saying is often form over function sucks...

I've wanted to do that mod for some time, and have looked and looked for a brake light that I like, and can be flush mounted into the lid. Just haven't found one I liked, so, I added a small lip spoiler (welded on) and called it a day. besides, once the windows are tinted on the Bird, it won't be seen until I hit the brakes anyway, and, keeps me from having to re-do the package shelf.

If the windows are tinted, you can't see the third brake light from the outside until I hit the brakes (with it mounted in the stock location).

Here's the small lip spoiler.......

What I did was take the back carpet out and replaced it with a black type carpet and never put back the 3rd light . What is the odds that a cop is going to pull you over and tell you there is no 3rd brake light . After all look at the finish look and looks to be if a 3rd light was never there . we don't have State inspection here , [thank you ] so that helps too . .........Vinnie ,,,,, great spoiler

Thanks. Took me forever to find a spoiler I actually thought looked good on these. I've thought of eliminating the 3rd brake light as well and just not having one, but THAT is the minute some cop will pull me over.We don't have inspections either. For the trunk lid, I still want one, but maybe on my other trunk lid. till can't find a thin one I like.
