Hello everyone!
I recently got a '88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe 5spd and becoming familiar with the car through this forum. I've never had a car with a turbo or blower before so I am new to all the added hardware. It's a pig, but fun to drive.
Many many moons ago I drove a '80 Ford Fairmont that had a 2.3L in it. Between the flex in the chassis and that 2 progressive two barrel carb, I swore off 4 cylinders and the fox chassis. Now look at me now. LOL
I had two 1979 Thunderbirds in my youth.
My focus on this car is to fix a couple problems so it can be a driver again then on to suspension and brakes. I've seen some of the original wheels polished and they look really nice. Not sure if I should bother though if I am planning on upgrading brakes. As of right now the brakes are not too confidence inspiring around town, but I will go through the stock setup first to see if they are at optimum or at least nominal.
First on the list to be fixed is the oil leak behind the cam pulley. I went for the low hanging fruit already to put sealant on the cam bolt, but it still leaks. Then onto the exhaust which it appears Stinger is the last one left making exhaust. His stuff looks nice.
