If you prefer to use new parts, you can still save money by going to swap meets or to junk yards. I bought a brand new 130A alt and there was a $66 core charge. The next swap I went to had multiple used 130A alts for $40 each. Just pick one up there, turn it in to the parts store as your core and get your $66 back. You won't be a millionaire, but you'll save around $26. Hey, it all adds up!
