I have two questions.

1)Will the speedo gear in an auto trans correct speedometer?

2)Do I really need a proportioning valve if I go from drum to disc? If so, where do I put it in the line?

1. The speedo gear out of a 87-88 auto should correct the speedo.

2.Yes I would recommend an Adjustable prop valve.

But first you would need to gut the original prop valve to allow full flow to front and rear brakes the you just install the adjustable prop anywhere in the main rear line (Before the rearend) where you want it out of the way/out of sight if you want.

This is so you can adjust the front brakes to grab before the rear brakes so you dont have rear brakes that either dont work well enough to do anything or work too well and grab causeing the rear of the car slide around if you press the brakes a little too hard.

Larger Bore master cylinder can help too if the pedal feels a little spongey after the swap.
