hey guys its been awhile since iv been on the board i like the new look but anyway the was a huge blow up about a new turbo coupe coming back into production or even a turbocharged SVO there were a few one here that would not believe me about the our old motors coming back well they did and heres my proof, i went to dealers asking about it and i went on fords website and sent them an email about a turbo coupe or even bringing back the 2.3L turbo motor. i got a replie back a few days later saying thanks for the imput and some other kind words... i went to a forum about voting on bringing these cars back. it was a toss up between people who wanted it back and people who dident. i let the idea rest...and then i heard this

I hate to break it to you, but that 2.3 isnt "our engine". Its a member of the Duratec modular engine family, and has about as much in common with our beloved Lima 2.3 as our Lima 2.3 has in common with a big block Chevy engine. On the other hand, the D23 is a relative of the D30 3.0 24V DOHC engine in my Taurus SEL daily driver.

tho the engines may be diffrent no its not an exact but its a new ford 2.3L turbo and i was a part of a club much similar to SHOfourm.com and hate to break it to ya but the SHO guys got there SHO made again and theres a lot of proof on that to and yes it is official i wasent alone with with task of suggesting the idea, and for you ppl who cant read my point is that if you read back and was apart of the conversation from what was said when this topic came up a few years ago you would know exactly what my point is\was. i dont get how so many ppl who have turbo coupes act like they dont want to see a new generation of small ford engines, for car enthusiasts, you guys on here dont seem to like your cars that much. and just because its on you tube doesnt mean its not true... how dumb can you be, who would just make this up and iv seen it on more places then just youtube. smh

You know what i cant read? Your damn posts. I could give a shit about new Ford Engines. You know why? Because i worked on them for 5 years as a Ford Certified Tech. I drove the Focus ST. I drove the F150 EcoBoost. While they were Badass, they a total PITA to work on. Our Cars have nothing to do with this new mustang so why should we give a shit? Ill be interested when Ford actually releases pictures and proof there doing this. Until then, its just bs to me.

i also find it freaking hilarious that you don't post on here for over a year, but come on here to try and make it seem like you were the person that brought back the 2.3l. your not impressing anyone.

again your missing the whole point and glad you can read but now i guess you need to work on your brain function. i could care less what you did what you drove and like i said if you had read my previous post you would know that this is a fist step to ford bring back 80's cars again its going back in that direction, the whole thing is about a future Thunderbird coming back into assembly, they have the motor, now they just need to make the car, and yes pete a "few members" witch i stated have been helpful but there are to many members on nato anymore that i care for in other words the good members dont post much on nato anymore. have you noticed?

wuddup story. been back to cecil lately? still got that shoprag wrapped around the power steering fitting? Big Grin

pump the brakes on the negativity man. i read a bit of sarcasm in a couple of the replies, but nothing that requires further argument.

i'm stoked to see the domestic manufacturers trending toward high performance smaller displacement boosted engines, but i still prefer my dinosaur iron single cam tinker toy though, lol Big Grin

And Again, i'll say what I said to you last year. There won't be another Thunderbird. Sorry to crush your dreams, but theres no need for that style car anymore. They've upped the mustang so much. Back in the 80's there was a huge difference between luxary and performance. now they wrap it all up in one. as for brain function, GROW THE HELL UP, take the bs insults somewhere else.
