I think i already know the answer to both questions but i want to hear it from someones else
1.When in neutral(On a 5 speed) If you revved it up there is no boost right?Does it vent it off or somthing.
2.Dont most stock TCs peak at 15 psi?
Thanks

1. You can't make boost until the engine is under load, reaches a certain point (rpm and or throttle postion) where it pumps enough air to spin the turbine fast enough to create boots.

2. Non intercooled TC peak around 10-12 psi

Intercooled TC can reach 15 psi but not all can do it in the top 3 gears in stock form. The ones that can get 15 in all gears can't get it until around 4500 rpms
An aftermarket boost control valve gets around this.

WHOA!!!Did I hear Pete correctly when he said that if I pump enough air through my turbo it will create BOOTS??????COOL!! I'm due for a new pair. [Image: wink.gif]

Too much fun, what's that mean? That's like too much boost, there's no such thing.

Tbird85, I don't doubt you getting 18 psi. It's possible that the hose to the WGA is cracked or missing. The diaphram in the WGA may be cracked or the WG may be stuck.

I heard somewhere that you shouldnt puch the non intercooled bird past 14-15 psi or it shortens the life of the turbo is that true? If so 18psi would be alot for a extended period of time

Are you going by the factory boost gauge...? My factory gauge says i'm getting 5 psi, in reality the autometer gauge reads 17psi.
