I don't know what you are referring to about flanges, but I might be able to help with the one wheel burn outs. It sounds like the clutch discs in your differential have had it. They are fairly easily replaced. You can get a 8.8 clutch disc pack at your Ford parts counter. You might want to pick up a manual on doing this if you haven't before. The kit has 4 discs per side, however you can rebuild your diff with 5 per side if you remove the shims. This creates an even tighter locking situation that you might like. I will try to find the info I used regarding pinion shaft spacing in order to do this performance rebuild safely.

Dont buy a clutch kit from the dealer! Check the big Mustang aftermarket supply outfits.... can get the kit from most of them for 1/2 of what you would pay at the dealer.

a block-off flange is more like a plate ... you would use one to block off the EGR hole in the intake manifold, for example.

A weld flange is something you would use if you were making your own turbo outlet elbow to mount to the non-intercooled T3, or to the end of an exhaust pipe (basically the same as a block-off flange, except it will have a hole in the middle)
