it seems nobody knows how to remove the timing cover without breaking it. i have two 2.3 turbo engines and both covers are broken...

i've found the part numbers for the replacement inner and outer covers(melling mic-100 and moc-100) but no one seems to be able to get them.

does anyone know where to purchase?

Junkyards are a start. Any 2.3 cover would work.

Unfortunately, used parts might break trying to get them out or in as well.

Mine was broken when I did my headgasket. I just didn't bother replacing it! :o

The best tools I ever bought were the craftsman box wrenches that are ratchet style with the CW CCW flip swith so you dont have to remove it of the bolt. I luve those tools. Anyway I use it to get the hard to reach bolt by the thermostat. Those tools have paid for themselves time and time again.
