Since I'm not useing my factory intercooler I'm thinking of useing a N/A hood from another 87.

I believe it will bolt up, am I correct ?

Is the engine going to miss my ram air ports ?

I just don't want to run any hotter during the summer.

THANKS

i would keep the TC dual snorkel hood for aesthetics, plus i would remove the ducting. it will allow fresh air to enter the engine compartment and keep the wiring and rubber stuff from getting too hot and deteriorating prematurely.

I don't like the fact rain gets in there. Thats going to crack my header or cause rust.

Plus, I've heard the air pressure from the ram air causes high pressure inside the engine bay which makes the radiator fan ineffiant.

Run whichever you prefer, you're not going to notice a difference between the two.

Different, but I think I like. Clean & unsuspecting lines. Definitely a sleeper!

I'm running a front mount and I like the ram air unit and stock intercoller ductiong because it blows cool air over the turbo and manifold. That is what the 300zx turbo scoop was in place for. Plus it makes the car look mean.

IMO, its like going backwards on style. that hood sets us apart from the basic NA "old lady" car. People pay top dollar for a hood like ours, including 5.0 bird guys.

Actually, I was given a 2000 yr old Roman Legion Ring after all was said and done. He held out his hand. I thought he wanted to shake my hand. I reached for his hand to shake it but he dropped the ring in my hand.
Oh and its now on the Tbirds key ring, for life.

i like the non-tc hood.
very clean. its shows the lines of the front end better, the scoops break that up. but dont get me wrong the hood makes it a TC, but sometimes i wish they werent there.
and i agree on the rain. if it rains and i start my car if its been sitting a few hours the belt squeals till it gets dry. its very annoying.
and this makes your car different. and scream to the TC knower you have a front mount which means your serious about the car.
