Hello I'm thinking about picking up a 1987 TC with an automatic transmission. It's only got 127,000 miles on it and it's bone stock. Problem is that it needs a fuel pump and the car has been sitting for about a year or so. Is it worth buying and getting it going again? I'm just worried about the transmission. I've heard there not very good. Let me know what you guys think

My personal, biased opinion is not if, just when. In theory, the trans can be beefed for better durability. Do some searches for more info.

Could always convert it to a T5. Much more reliable and much more fun with a 5 speed than an automatic.
