1985 AC compressor

Does anyone know a source for new ones?

Pete, I have been trying to find an exact replacement for my 84'. I have run across a couple of companies that claim they have a unit that will work, however I never checked them out completely. It seems to me, it would be easier to retrofit them to something that you can still buy new parts for. Is there a source for 87 & 88's? How difficult would a conversion be? For now, I use the 265 AC, 2 windows down and 65 MPH. [Image: smile.gif]

Pete - I spoke with a manager at my local Kragen store awhile back about the HR980 compressors the 83-88 TC's use. He told me that they can be ordered in reman or new from the manufactor still. I personnally removed a almost new one from a 83 TC in my local Pick-n-pull today. Nos ones come across E-bay once and awhile. I missed a Nos one about amonth ago that sold for 88.00!! My damn computer was too slow for the bid.
The main problem is most Nos ones have been snatched up by the collectors or obsolete parts places since they are the same ones used on the 84-86 SVO Mustang. They fetch high dollar when SVO Mustang is attached to it.
