It isnt really a question of HP thay can stand, it is a question of torque and shock loading. If you have a really built 2.3T and do 5K clutch drops with drag slicks, you will probably kill it eventually, but if you run street tires, and dont abuse it constantly, it will last a good long while. The 7.5 has gotten a bad rap for being weak, but, IMO, it isnt all that bad. Will it stand up to drag duty behind a supercharged 351? No. Will it stand up to a typical street driven 2.3T? Probably.
