I have an 85 TC with 225000 miles on it. Repaired items at following mileage;
new AC - 129699
auto trans overhaul - 193066
SY exhaust manifold and turbo - 194644
(turbo had broken bolts from AAMCO guys)
fuel pump - 197600
rear axle bearings, seals, shaft assemb - 218318
Runs great now. I've owned it since it was one year old.
85 TC, auto, black, tan lthr

I bought my orange TC with 164,000 on it for $1600...4 years ago.
Now, it has 221,000 and has NEVER been torn into. Including the turbo!

White with blue pearl, interior trim peices painted (same as exterior), shaved trunk emblems and bleeder valve...so far
90 Notchback--turbo project!

Got 180000 on mine, 32000 of that in the last year. I wouldn't worry about the engine.... Go for it!

Wow! I thought I had a lot w/ 155,400 on my Daily Driver. I've got a ways to go. Still runs great though. No leaks, and the Turbo is VERY strong.
