How do some of you have larger then stock tires on these cars?

I just replaced my tires (stock size) and my car has the stock PRC suspension (I think I got the last pairs of PRC shocks and struts in the country two years ago!)

During hard conering, my tires rub the inside fenderwell, sometimes sounding pretty harsh. I've always thought this to be a design flaw from Ford. I've known a few people with T-coupes who had the same exact problem, one of them was a completely stock show car with 15k miles on it, never been touched. Still has stock factory tires on it.

Something doesn't sound right, because I've got 245/50 16's on the stock snowflakes, and the car is 1.5 lower, and I do not make contact anywhere, even on the 3inch exhaust over the rearend. I'm at a loss to explain your particular situation.

I have several t-coupe's and all have 236/60 r16 on them some rub and some don't the ones that do all are lower so I think tire rub comes from saging springs

I have heard of people having problems with + sized tires on lowered cars or the wrong offset on wheels. But if you got stock wheels and the car is not (purposly) lowered, something else may be wrong.

I'm running 245x50x16 on aftermarket rims with no problems.

You only need two tools in life; WD-40 and Duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should use WD-40. If it moves and it shouldn't, use Duct Tape.

Hummmmm....now you got me thinking. This car has done this since I bought it back in 93'. It's never been a problem because it only happenes in tight conering and it's quick. Now I'm going to have another look at this, but I've replaced the suspension and everything is OEM, and nothing is missing, front end is tight as can be. Great something else to think about!

My problem has been around for quite sometime, like 10 years. Is it possible the springs were weak at 60k miles? I didn't change springs when I did struts 2 years ago because they seemed fine.
