It sounds like the coolant system is plugged up somewhere ? Maybe the thermostat is stuck ? Or the radiator is clogged ? I'd flush the system.

good news is I have one of those sitting next to me with a ranger roller cam that I got from work for a total of $40 =)

but I think that it might be a wrist pin that makes the knock under load because I thought I was going to melt the pistons to the cylinder walls it was that hot
