BP sensor

Is the BP sensor the MAP sensor. I have a flashing CEL. After checking the codes I get 22, BP sensor out of test range, as referenced in the Tech. Art. section. Then I got a flashing Climate Control panel, and then, an Antilock brake light. All I need now is for the Ride Control light to start blinking. Anyone for pinball?

Our BP (Barometric Pressure) sensor is kind of equivilent to a MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor. Our TC's only measure atmospheric pressure to provide the EEC with altitude information. It's only got wires hooked to it, and *does not* connect to anything with a vacuum hose.

HTH.

Thanks JoeCool. I guess I meant to ask if its the sensor that's on the firewall, like the MAP on other cars. I guess it is.

In an 87 (the only year I can vouch for) its mounter on the passenger wheelwell on a bracket the also mounts the IRCM.

HTH.

P.S. It looks pretty much like a MAP sensor, too.

I think I understand. Its the small piece that sits right on top of the IRCM that has a small breather hole, right?

Thanks again JoeCool, and Glenn. I found the problem. The sensor got disconnected while I was screwing around and reflaring the turbo oil line. All is O.K. now.
