I'm beginning to become irritated at this car. On the way to work last night, I stop to be raped at the pump, and after thats over, no fuel pump. This thing is coming close to belonging to someone else.

To quote the Doctor from the movie 'Splash', "What a WEEK I'm having!!!!!"

Keep the faith but welcome to the club..The wife told me to paint my 87 a LEMON color yesterday..That comment just goes to the bone.

Got to the car in the morning and it fired right up, and drove it home. Let it sit for a couple minutes and fired it back up. Drove it to work tonight, no problems. WTF? FPR? Pump (about 2 years old/new) giving me a warning of its eminent demise? Still tossing the idea of devoting time to something else.

Oh, and OUCH on the 'painting it a lemon' color'. Gotta give her credit from the humor end of it though.

That sounds like an intermittent TFI prob. if I ever heard one.

Intermittant TFI issue-Thats what I am checking now -see the FUEL PUMP thread somewhere at the top of the discussion board.
Yup on the wife being funny-not - she tellin me to dump this and go back to Jeeps and 4 wheeling ( also expensive when things break)..just gotta keep the faith

also, very very good chance of fuel pump on its way out.

next time it dies. try banging on the bottom of the tank with a big hammer. (just not enough to dent it, but hard) it is kind of like a cog and roller bearings in the pump. as they wear, they get smaller. they will not jam if the pump is running, but once it stops, they can, if you bang on it, it can jar them loose. had this happen many times. if you have a fuel pressure guage, carry it with you, next time it dies, check pressure.
Currently birdless, but will get another someday!
