Alrighty...
Well, here's the deal.. I had my foglights off my car for alittle while.. but then I decided I liked the way the car looked better with them on. (when I took them off the left one had been burnt out) So, my hubby and me spent today putting them back on and putting new bulbs in them. So, we turn the lights on.. the foglights don't come on. Hmm... check the fuses.. the fuse looks fine, but we change it, and try the lights again.. The right one turns on. So the left one isn't working.. Interesting. I'm thinking MAYBE that the light is a dud? What should I do?!

Check the wiring to the fog light assembly. Then Physically remove just the light housing which contains the bulb with the clip. Make sure that the hot wire is properly connected to the factory harness..make sure there is no corrosion on it. If there is, it will not have a proper contact and won't work. Also, check that the light is clipped in properly. That completes the ground for the light. If it isn't, that too will not work.

I had the same problem. I did two things to solve it. First I made sure the ground wird was on the light good and tight by closing up the connector more. The second thing I did was to tape all the connections. This solved the problem for me.

The 2 terminal connectors that connect the fog lights to the harness are total junk, and easily corrode internally. Pull one connector (doesnt matter which, they are wired in parallel), and put a test light across the terminals on the harness side... jam the test light wires in to be sure to break thru any corrosion. Now try the fog lights, and see if the test light lights up. If it does, the problem is in the lights, bulb grounding. If it doesnt light up, does the little light in the switch light up? If it does, the switch is probably good, and you have a wiring problem between the switch and the fog lights. Might just want to run the test light from the switch output to ground to positively check the switch.

Hey, thank you guys for all the help, but you have to understand you're dealing with a (minimal knowledge) backyard mechanic here.. Most stuff I know how to do, but I'm not very familiar with the stuff you guys are talking about..
I did notice that the wires that ran to the lights on the left side looked kind of funky.. (More rusted and angry than corroded.) Is there any place I can buy new wires to replace the rusted, angry ones?

Swith the lights to see if one is burnt out and if the other works in the "dead" hole. If it does than it is your bulb not your wiring. ( I know you said you bought new bulbs but it is possible to get a brand-new bulb that is dead).

I'm laughing now, but I wasn't before, but the non working foglight started working yesterday. For no reason at all! Not that I'm complaining.. Tongue

A classic sign of the POS 2 terminal connectors that connect the fog light to the wiring harness. Pull the connectors apart, and scrape the male terminals clean, and connect / disconnect / reconnect several times. Maybe spray with electrical contact cleaner too.
