broken tranny line

I was trying to take the tranny line out at the tranny side, and the brass nut snapped, leaving the threaded portion in the trans. Not enough thread sticking out to get a hold of. What should I do now?? I just have no luck with these cars at all.

If the A4LD is like the AOD (not sure), the fitting doesnt come off, you use a special tool to remove the line from the fitting. Anyone know for sure??

Yes, they use the fuel line/AC line type tool to release the line from the fitting. The fitting/coupling is threaded into the trans housing. You are going to have to be real careful about getting any chips inside the trans when you try to remove the broken off section.

use a screw/bolt extractor it is essentally a left hand thread self tapping self threading screw it shoulkd allow you to wind out the broken off piece had something similar happen to me. on a AOD

you can get a new fitting from ford also and some places that cater to tranny people will have them too ford number i got was
E1DZ-7D273-A
for my aod but i think they are all alike

Thanks. I'll try to get the tool and see if I can back it out.

Maybe I should just do a t5 swap.

Just wanted to let you guys know I appreciate the help. Got the fitting out with a screw extractor, replaced the fitting, and all is well.
