Some code questions (kind of long)

Finally got my TC back from the shop. She came back much different than when she went in. Got 3" exhaust from the turbo back from Strick9 Customs and my new Star stage II clutch and stage III PP that everyone talks about. I also have a brand new miss at idle [Image: mad.gif]. The car has been fully tuned up w/in the last 8000 miles. New everything. I swapped the plug wires with a new pair to make sure and checked the gap and condition of the plugs. They were fine and the car behaved the same as before, with the erratic miss, mostly occurring at idle or on decel. I pulled the codes and got an 83 KOEO and a 63 & 72 in continuous memory. I could not find 83 on the list in the tech articles. The 63 indicates my TPS is below test minimum but it I set it to the correct voltage about a month and a half ago. Could this mean the TPS is shot? The 72 is what puzzles me "power interrupt detected"? Can someone please explain that to me? When the car misses the tach blips and the vacuum sinks from 19# to about 17# and then right back to normal 19# at idle. The car smells rich but it is not indicated by my air/fuel gauge. It is not a serious stumble more like a cough. The car has 81k miles on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Zach

My scanner book lists a code 83 as either a "high speed electro drive fan circuit failure" or an "EGR control solenoid-open circuit failure"

TPS maybe the screws worked loose and it shifted, just a guess.

On the power loss see Jeff K's response in this thread. See what he says about the ignition switch and power to the coil. I think the coil feeds the tach. http://natoubb.turboford.org/Forum1/HTML/004181.html

Letting the cat out of the bag is a whole lot easier than putting it back in.

Thanks for the suggestions, however I was not able to solve the problem, after inspecting the wiring and connections at the EEC, and following the suggestions in the other threads. The car still hesitates while driving, but its less noticeable under throttle than it is at idle. Any other suggestions would be helpful, as I am running out of ideas on what to do. Could this possibly be a bad TPS? In the past I have experienced hanging throttle around 2k RPM at idle, but it comes and goes with the wind. Thanks again

Just for S&Gs stick a vacuum gauge on it and see what it pulls at idle, warm. You should see 18-20 and steady.

I have a boost/vac gauge installed in place of my EQ, and it pulls 19# at idle. Then, when it coughs, the vaccuum drops to 17# but will jump right back to 19#. Like I said it's like a cough.

Did you check/reset the TPS? Did you check the wiring and connector to the TFI module?
Try wiggiling the key with the engine on.
