Well!,I finally got there.I was hoping for a little better, but i will take what i got.Traction seems to be my biggest problem.Time to invest in some nice Drag Radials.

I don't know, a 2.08 is pretty good!! I went a 14.7 with a 2.45 60'. Judging by your MPH I'd say it's time to add power. Enjoy the feeling though, 14's is good to be in!

RE: 14's finally - slacken00 - 09-07-2007

yeah i agree a 2.0 60' is pretty good, i dont think you want any drag radials yet, i have them for my car and i took them off because until i get a 2 step to build some boost up i dont need it plus you always want a little wheel spin if you dont have a 2 step, that builds boost, try slippin the clutch a little bit, if you do that right you wont spin and youll build boost.
p.s. lower the pressure to about 15ish in the back and that will help also, good luck

Good job! I'm curious as to why you only gain 16 mph after the 1/8th. What are your shift points and rear gears? You may gain more by running out in 3rd gear.

RE: 14's finally - Stan B. - 09-09-2007

I'm shifting at 5500 or so,and my rear gearing is 3.73.A couple of times i tried to hold 3rd as long as possible, but she hit the rev limiter just before crossing.Other times i had to shift into fourth. That was my last outing for the season.I plan on having cyl. head work done over the winter,or try another power adder like the Boost Cooler. Also is feasible to use A-237 cam with stock head.

RE: 14's finally - slacken00 - 09-09-2007

personally i wouldnt go with the 237 cam i have that and i love the lope it gives it but id go with something else if i were you, just my .02 cents

RE: 14's finally - Stan B. - 09-10-2007

Why is that slacken00,I see that you are running 13.90' with that cam. What else is there ?.You never said if it would be feasible to use it with a stock head. All i want is to get into low 14's to high 13's and i would be happy with it.Any ideas on what to do based on my current times, would be greatly appreciated.I really dont want to do the nitrous route.

RE: 14's finally - Sluggo - 09-10-2007

The A237 will work with a stock head. The $ could be better spent on something else though. Control arms maybe? I'm still thinking about your lack of mph in the last half of the track. Is the RR cam retarded any? With that and the .48 ex housing maybe you could gain more by shifting lower, like about 5000 - 5200. If it will take more timing without detonation that may help also.

RE: 14's finally - slacken00 - 09-10-2007

yeah just seems like a little too much cam for what ive got and ive got a good bit, im not sure but i think the 237 is a higher rpm cam and i woulda liked to have something in the middle and down in the lower rpms, but yeah listen to sluggo, for the money of a cam like that and bein stock id look somewhere else for more power, but as for the shifting id take 2nd out to 5500 or 6000 but 3rd id shift a lil earlier
