i've done the search for the problem my bird is having and have found quite a few with near identical problems. some with suggestions on how to fix it. the only thing missing is the definite answer on what did ultimately fix the problem. it would be helpful if the ultimate fix would be left on the board. thanks
What exactly is the problem with your car? (I didn't see it listed in the statement/question you posted) [Image: wink.gif]

Thanks

There's numberous things that cause missing, you need to be more specific as to the conditions of your problem and what you have already tried to remedy it.

One of the most likely culprits that cause missing is spark plug wires, especially Bosch and a few other not so popular brands. Ford/Motorcraft is the most widely used and recommended for our cars. There are a few big name brands that work well for some of us, but it all depends on how they work with your paticular car. Find what works best on your car and stick with it.

Personally I run Taylor High Energy wires available from Summit Racing for around $25.oo and specific fit for TC
Nate is correct... there a lots of causes for missing. bad plugs, wires, cap, rotor, vac leak, intermittant wire, bad coil, VAF about to die, TPS about to die, bad PIP and / or TFI, etc, etc. Sometimes a partly failed PIP or TFI or VAF or TPS will set a code, sometimes not. Bad wires, plugs, cap, etc will not set a code, as the EEC doesnt monitor these.

Summit has them back ordered. They list them for $21.99 as of today (3/13/03) but do not have any in stock. [Image: frown.gif]
