I'm looking to lower my car.. And I want to buy a new set of springs because mine are bad, car sits lop-sided (driver side lower than passenger)

So i've heard bits here and there about mustang springs that do and don't work, and It's all just confusing me to the point of frustration so I want to know straight up what kind of springs to get and where to get them. I want to drop my car around 2".

YES I have been to the TurboFord forums and haven't found any straight answer for an 87 TC. I'm not very fond of TF, and I can't even register there in the first place so I'm here looking for a simple answer. Any direction would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Moog, Spicer and Husky still make and sell springs for the TC's. My son just bought the Moogs from www.rockautoparts.com for about 140 dollars for front and rear with shipping. They sell them in pairs. Of course those are not lowering springs.

Santana
Thanks Santana.. At least im in a general direction now for brands.

Now just the lowering part..
The stang springs makes our cars sit way to low and dont really work , our cars weigh a little more and if you put stang springs on , just makes the birds sit to low and will bottom out . wait it out and find the right springs you want , ask around or look for a set of used ones , just make sure their from and for a Bird and not a Stang . Koni did make them , but not any more . SCya , D.Wilder
Do you think I should just get new springs and have them professionally cut to lower it? Seems like a waste to cut brand new springs..
I could use the ones in my car, but because it sits lopsided (old/bad springs) they'd be cut different lengths, and I'm scared they will worsen and bottom out completely.

What year and model mustang springs will fit front & rears? I'm not looking for so much a front drop as I am the rear end.. And if I could get stang springs that would work fine that the rear squats pretty low.

I'll show a picture of a friend's Bird that has the exact drop I want..

You should be able to tell my drivers side is slightly lower from those pictures.. It's usually easier to tell. But yeah If a set of mustang springs would give me that height then that's perfect, of course I would have to permanently ride PRC Firm, but that is perfectly fine with me.

Thoughts?

P.S.
For the record, my friend's previous car owner had the springs cut.. Has no idea how much though.
Well I do have a set from a stang that i had on my 88 Turbo coupe , but it was low , so if your looking for a low ride Bird , these will do it , i got them brand new and used for a year, still look as new , 50 bucks and shipping , thats a deal , im in Indiana . [email protected]

My two cents is NOT to drop it. My '87 has the stocj replacement springs on it. CHE upper and lower rear control arms. Caster camber plates. KYB GR-2 struts in the rear, KYB gas ajustable quad shocks, some type of Monroe Mustang GT replacement struts in the front and changed all the front and rear bushings other than the body ones. 275/40/17's on 17x10's in he rear and my car sits PERFECTLY. It out handles TONS of cars out there. I work with people that own all year Covettes up to 2007 and they even say its the closes thing that they have driven to their cars. And NO jarring ride. I drive with my mother and father and they love the ride. Why sacrifice ride for looks? Plus wear out parts as well.
Lowering my car is what I want to do.. I LOVE the look of these cars lowered.

Looking good feels good.
And feeling good makes any ride enjoyable.

Besides, i'm not exactly racing this car or pushing it's performance to the edge anyways. Just driving around town. And I don't really see how it would wear out parts?
Im still looking for a photo of the T/C I had these springs on , but i do know if you go to the SCCoA club , there is a photo of a few of my cars , 1 of them is the T/C . Under Ballman . let me know if you find it . D.Wilder
