I have a vacuum gauge and such, how do you do a vacuum test? What should the gauge read etc.? Hate to sound stupid and show my ignorance, but I would like to know, someone please enlighten me... Thanks. [Image: smile.gif]
Attach it to the vacuum tree or the upper intake. At warm idle the gauge should read 18-22. Four cylinders tend to read on the low end of that range - 18-20. If it reads in that range and the needle is fairly steady, everything is probably OK as far as vacuum leaks, cam and ignition timing and many, not all, mechanical conditions. Many things affect vacuum. If you are having a specific problem, tell us.

No problems Pete. I just wanted to know how to use the vacuum gauge correctly and what to look for. Thanks for replying. [Image: smile.gif]
