So i'm kind of wondering.. Is there a way to adjust the throttle response? It seems kind of.. Slow. It takes a while before the RPM's start to climb. Not LONG, but compared to like, a Suzuki Swift I have at work it's much slower.
Any way to adjust this?
Remember you have a 2.3 L 4 cylinder engine in a car that weighs well over 3500 lbs with a driver and a full tank of gas. Off boost throttle response will never be that great.... that is what the turbo is for.
Have you checked your ignition timing? Retarded timing will kill tip in throttle response. Might also want to verify cam timing is correct.

Yeah I think tip in throttle response stinks on this car too. My clutch foot is faster than the throttle response when trying to not roll backwards on a steep hill around here, often leading to a stalled car. I've tried fooling with my timing, base idle and all that. It helps a little. IMHO the VAM is the largest problem, I feel it snaps shut for a second on hard throttle making the problem worse. Dunno if I'm right but it sounded good to me !

IMHO even after trying some tweaks. It is what it is.
You can't really compare it to a small motor that can be wound up like your Suzuki either. You've got a lot more mass to spin up when you tap the throttle on your tbird.
I had that sort of problem. I checked my TPS and it had worked loose and had set itself at .78volts. That wasn't any fun. I reset the TPS to .97v and all was well. Also as far as motors go our 2.3t's are a BIG block of 4 bangers!
